Rarely does a review of a past financial year seem so surrealistically far away as it does today. The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic also represents a deep cut for the transport and logistics sector. In retrospect, the broad strokes of a strategy can be seen that was already important and necessary before the emergence of the coronavirus – and which will be even more decisive for the future after the pandemic has ended. In this regard, the current report on the year 2019 also reads like a strategic vision for the future of BPW – and as an appeal to all of the company’s customers and partners along the value chain, but also to politicians and society at large, to work together today to actively advance the transformation of the transport sector.
