The signs of a profound industrial transformation were already clearly on the horizon before the COVID-19 pandemic dealt a historically unprecedented blow to the global economy. It would therefore be naive to believe that the further expansion of digitisation and connectivity is now slowing down – and neither is climate change. In fact, quite the opposite is true – crises accelerate change and separate the winners and the losers more quickly and more mercilessly. This is what experience from more than 120 years of company history teaches us. Our identity as a value-driven family business helps us to stay the course, even in the face of sharp downturns.
